Olivia Burton, 23, and her boyfriend, Francis Morales (24), have moved to California against the wishes of their families. Francis’ mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s lifestyle and expresses her feelings through violent and religiously themed postcards. Despite these objections, the young lovers settle into a new, exciting life together. However, their bliss is cut short when Francis is injured physically and mentally in a freak accident. He soon begins to suffer from night terrors – whispering to Olivia’s invisible figure in his sleep and sleepwalking to strange corners of the house. These episodes terrify Olivia and also lead her to believe that Frances may be hiding something from her. Her investigation leads to a terrifying and twisted discovery; they are haunted by the ghost of Francis’ youth minister – a being angered by their coexistence and come to punish them for their sins.
