Peter Jackson directed The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, a 2003 epic high fantasy adventure film. He co-wrote the screenplay with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, basing it on J.R.R. Tolkien’s 1955 novel The Return of the King, the third volume of The Lord of the Rings. James McTeigue directed V for Vendetta, a 2005 U.S.-Germany co-production film released in 2006. The Wachowski siblings adapted the screenplay for the film and produced it. They based the story on the graphic novel of the same name, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd, which was published by DC Comics.
The film depicts the awakening of the English people in a future England, where they endure heavy losses from terrorist attacks and find refuge in an oppressive regime. The story begins with V (Hugo Weaving) rescuing Evey (Natalie Portman).

The Wachowski siblings wrote and directed The Matrix, a 1999 science fiction action film. Serving as the first installment of the Matrix film series, the movie stars Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, Hugo Weaving, and Joe Pantoliano. The story presents the “Matrix,” a simulation created by machines (artificial intelligence) after their advancement, where humans unknowingly live as captives. The plot follows pirate Jack Sparrow (Depp) and blacksmith Will Turner (Bloom) as they try to rescue the kidnapped Elizabeth Swann (Knightley). The trio faces Captain Hector Barbossa (Rush) and the cursed crew of the Black Pearl, who suffer from a supernatural curse.
