Discovering the Amazing Lake Urmia:
During my trip to northwest Iran, I visited a very special place called Lake Urmia. It’s one of the largest saltwater lakes in the world and feels like something out of a storybook. The sparkling water, shiny salt on the ground, and unique animals made this trip unforgettable.
What Lake Urmia Looks Like:
When I got close to the lake, I was amazed by how big it was. Even though the lake is smaller now than it used to be, it still looks endless. The water shined in the sunlight with shades of blue and green, and there were white salt crystals everywhere along the shore.As I walked near the lake, I could smell the salty air, and the ground made crunchy sounds under my feet. It was so beautiful that it felt like I had traveled to another planet!
Salt Everywhere:
Lake Urmia is very salty, even more than the ocean. The water is so salty that you can float without trying! Some people were swimming and laughing as they floated on top of the water like magic.The salt around the lake made cool shapes on the ground. It looked like little sculptures made by nature. Some were sharp, and others were smooth and shiny. I took lots of pictures because it was so pretty.In some parts of the lake, the ground was red because of tiny living things that grow in salty water. The red color made the lake look even more special.
Animals at the Lake:
Even though the lake is super salty, it’s home to some amazing animals. Birds like flamingos and pelicans come here to rest. I was so excited to see a group of pink flamingos walking in the shallow water. They looked so beautiful with their long legs and bright feathers.There are also tiny creatures called brine shrimp that live in the lake. These little animals are really important for the birds and the lake’s health.
A Quiet, Peaceful Place:
Lake Urmia is very quiet and peaceful. I loved standing by the water, listening to the wind, and looking at the wide-open sky. It felt so calm, like a perfect place to relax and think.Taking Care of the LakeWhile the lake is amazing, it’s also in danger. The water has been drying up because of hot weather and less water flowing into the lake. But people are working hard to save it, and I hope Lake Urmia can stay beautiful for a long time.
Why I Loved It:
Visiting Lake Urmia was one of the best parts of my trip. It’s a magical place with salty water, cool animals, and lots of things to see.If you ever travel to this part of Iran, you should visit Lake Urmia. It’s a place you’ll always remember!
